Child care centers in North Florida: what to know

A child care center starts with capacity: how many children of each age you want to serve. Licensing rules turn that count into floor area for each classroom, outdoor space, toilets and sinks, so the building is drawn from the number rather than the other way around. A single-story steel building with classrooms on both sides of a central hall is a common layout, with the office and a controlled entry at the front and the kitchen and laundry toward the back.
